Osborne Hall — A Central Space for Group Celebrations

Osborne Hall sits at the heart of The Victorian Barn Dorset and is our largest communal space for group celebrations. Light, spacious and full of character, the hall features original flagstone flooring with underfloor heating, a striking glass roof that fills the space with natural light and a balcony overlooking the room.

The hall works particularly well for groups who want to dine together, enjoy music and spend time as a whole group in one shared space. It is directly linked to Victoria Albert, Beatrice, Helena and Leopold within the main barn, allowing guests to move easily between their accommodation and the celebration space.

For quieter celebrations such as family reunions or anniversary dinners, Osborne Hall can be used as part of a larger group stay without requiring exclusive use of the entire site. Where celebrations involve live music, bands or amplified entertainment, exclusive use arrangements may be required to ensure the comfort of all guests across the estate. Woodside Retreat — A More Intimate Social Space

Woodside Retreat is a beautifully converted detached barn offering both flexible celebration space and comfortable group accommodation, making it ideal for smaller group celebrations where everyone wants to stay close together.

The retreat features an open-plan lounge and dining area designed for shared meals and relaxed evenings together, along with a well-equipped kitchen and WC facilities. Three adjoining suites sleep between 12 and 18 guests under one roof, each with comfortable bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms and private lounge areas and kitchens, giving everyone both privacy and proximity.

Woodside Retreat is particularly well suited to:

The dining and lounge space forms a natural hub for the group and works comfortably for smaller celebrations, while remaining flexible enough for informal gatherings when furniture is arranged differently. Because Woodside Retreat sits slightly apart from the main Victorian Barn, it offers a more private and intimate feel without needing exclusive use of the entire estate.

For groups requiring additional bedrooms, nearby cottages can be added to a Woodside Retreat booking, allowing guests to spread out across the site while still having a dedicated central space to eat, relax and socialise together. Access to outdoor patios, hot tubs and the wider estate leisure facilities adds to the flexibility of the stay.
