The Victorian Barn boasts three coarse fishing lakes onsite covering four acres of beautiful Dorset countryside and are open all year round for your enjoyment. The lakes are only a 2 minute walk from the accommodation. It is also possible to drive and park at the lakes with your equipment.

You can experience the peace and tranquility of Dorset's beautiful countryside while enjoying some of the best fishing and accommodation in the area.

Fishing Holidays at lakes at The Victorian Barn Dorset

The lakes are named Park, Oak (specimen), and Alder.

Anglers staying at The Victorian Barn Dorset can fish at any time but we do ask if you plan to fish between 7 pm and 7 am (overnight) please Contact Us to let us know.

The Lakes

Park Lake is an absolute pleasure to fish. As a runs water lake, it offers the perfect balance for both the carp angler and match fishing enthusiast alike. The lake is teeming with fish up to 10lbs, and there are always a few surprises in store. Whether you're into surface fishing or prefer to fish the bottom, this lake won't disappoint. You can expect to catch a range of species, including Ghost Carp, Mirror Carp, Bream, Perch, Rudd, and Common Carp. And with nearly guaranteed bites, you're sure to have a great day out on the water. Alder Lake is a true gem for anglers looking for a challenge. While it may not be as easy to fish as Park Lake, the rewards are definitely worth it. In fact, some of the fish in this lake weigh in excess of 30lbs. Fishing Oak Lake requires a bit of patience and some specialised gear. But for those willing to put in the time and effort, the rewards can be truly incredible. The lake is quiet and serene, which only adds to the sense of anticipation as you wait for that big catch. So why not take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and head down to Oak Lake for some truly unforgettable fishing? With a bit of patience and the right gear, you might just catch the fish of a lifetime!

Guests staying at The Victorian Barn Dorset can enjoy fishing on our onsite lakes for £10 per person, per day, which can be added when booking your accommodation.

To Find The Lakes

Follow the drive to the end by the main farm house, then follow the signs for the 'lakes' along a gravel track. Part of the way along the track there will be a sign for the lakes to turn left. Follow this to the end. There is ample hard standing car parking space available for your convenience next to the lakes. The lakes are just a short walk from the car park up a slight incline.

Please use the marked swims provided and please do not move between swims.

We recommend that all anglers carry hand sanitizer and wipes.

One dog per angler is permitted but please keep them on a lead and pick up their waste.

Please take your waste home with you this includes cigarette ends.

All the usual fishing rules apply, and we ask that you check our Noticeboard for any changes.
